Our House

Peach Grove House has a charming history etched forever in time.
It was built in 1850 by Colonel William F. Wheeler
in anticipation of his son Isaac’s wedding.
Colonel Wheeler chose one of Warwick’s most Sophisticated builders,
Mr. Brookes Parmley, to build his wedding gift.
It was the first home in the Hudson Valley
to have electricity and running water,
awarded the Grand Prize in 1850’s Orange County Fair.
Still in the house is the only survival of
Farm Map of the Town of Warwick, Orange County, NY
Surveyed, drawn and published by
Michael Hughes in 1863
In it you can see Peach Grove House
almost identical as it looks today
built in the Greek Revival style
still maintains its original wide plank wood floors,
brick, bluestone & rock walls and floors,
chandeliers, fire alarm, fireplace kitchen and beehive oven.
With its original faux marble walls painted by
the artist Charles Clinton on the two-story Grand Hall.
Its beauty, character and charm are beyond its grandeur.
